Who we are
The welfare initiative for seafarers was established in 2001 by the National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI) in collaboration with the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF). It is recognised as a Public Charitable Institution and is registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950.
The primary mission of the NUSI / ITF trust is the Welfare of Indian Seafarers and their Families. The trust strives to reach out to a large population of Indian seafarers and their families through effectively administrated and executed schemes which include:

Our Training Facilities
NUSI Maritime Academy (NMA, Goa)
The NUSI Maritime Academy, established in 1993 by NUSI, is a premier training institute for Indian seafarers. Founded to address the lack of ratings training in India, the Academy equips new and existing seafarers with essential skills and knowledge for a career in the Merchant Navy. Located in Chinchinim, Goa, the Academy is a unique initiative by a trade union, offering high-quality maritime education

NUSI Offshore Training Institute - Panvel (NOTI, Panvel)
The NUSI Offshore Training Institute (NOTI), located near Mumbai in Raigad, is a state-of-the-art facility offering specialized training for the offshore oil and gas sector. Spread across 6 acres, NOTI provides internationally accredited programs in vessel operations, dynamic positioning, emergency response, crane operations, and more. With expert faculty, modern infrastructure, and full residential amenities, NOTI is committed to enhancing safety, efficiency, and environmental protection in the offshore energy industry.

Mohamed Ebrahim Serang Centre (MESC)
MESC stands as a premier destination for maritime training and welfare, offering specialized courses across Deck, Engine, and LWST domains. We believe that the foundation of a successful maritime career lies in quality education, and our expert faculty bring unmatched experience and dedication to every program. Whether you are an aspiring seafarer beginning your journey or a professional aiming to upgrade your skills, MESC provides the knowledge, guidance, and resources needed to achieve your goals and build a rewarding future at sea.
